SMK Fomra Institute of Technology (SMKFIT) ,one of the renowned Engineering college in Chennai located near kelambakkam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Banyan Technology Solutions (BTS),one of the premier IT company in Chennai to provide training and placement support for their students.As a part of MoU, BTS conducted their special training programme “Soft Edge” on Microsoft .Net in SMKFIT Campus for about 10 days.

Mr.Raja Murugesh , Project Leader from BTS has trained the final year students of CSE & IT on Microsoft .Net and provided them a project “H1B Visa Processing” and “ College Information Systems” to do it in 3 days. Students after gained a good expertise on the technology Microsoft .Net, they applied their expertise in doing these projects & completed in a short span of 3 days.

At the end of training programme, Soft skills programme was conducted by Mr.Aziz , a senior soft skills trainer followed by valedictory function was held in which Mr.H.Meeran Mohideen, Director –BTS ,Dr.N.V.Pundarikanthan ,Director –SMKFIT & Dr.Chandramouli ,HOD-IT were present.

Students started presenting about their projects to the management followed by certificates were distributed to them .Students commented that “BTS Soft Edge training programme is Excellent which has made them to gain a good knowledge on Microsoft .Net to complete a project ”.

Dr.Chandramouli , HOD-IT after evaluating the projects , he mentioned that projects done by their students under the guidance of BTS is excellent and he also said that their project may be salable in the market in crores.

Dr.N.V.Pundarikanthan, Director-SMKFIT expressed that this is the first time their management has conducted a unique programme like “Soft Edge” in association with BTS and he also mentioned that many students who got trained in this programme got placement in an IT company through campus interview conducted in their college recently .

At the end of the valedictory function, students & management of SMKFIT thanked BTS and provided a cake to trainer , Mr.Raja to cut and conclude the function.The Inaugural and Valedictory function of this programme was featured in “THE HINDU” with photos.
